The NoBo Art Center's last listed show was "Wayfinding" by Cady Faus and Cindy Parker, and it ran through Sept. 25. By Oct. 2, the Daily Camera's gallery guide listed the gallery at 4929 Broadway #E as closed at that location while it prepares a new space. The paper's Oct. 16 art guide still said the same thing, with "details to come soon."
The center has been the walk's home base, so its closure changes how the walk works. The Nov. 6 and Dec. 4 First Fridays both run 6 to 9 p.m., and with the gallery still closed, the evening depends on the smaller rooms around it. If you live near Wonderland Lake, those rooms are a few blocks north of the trailhead at 4201 North Broadway.
The calendar still points to 4929 Broadway
The Boulder County Arts Alliance listing for NoBo First Friday still puts both the November and December walks "@ NoBo Center for the Arts." It also tells visitors to pick up a map at "the NoBo tent outside 4929 Broadway #E." That's the same address the Daily Camera has listed as closed for most of October.
A tent can go up outside a closed storefront, so the listing could still be right about the tent. It's also possible the map table moves somewhere else for November. Nothing published so far settles it. Before you leave the house on Nov. 6, check the NoBo Art District's own First Friday page at noboartdistrict.org/firstfriday for the current map and tent location.
The same listing describes the walk as "monthly exhibitions" at three venues: Bus Stop Gallery, the NoBo Art Center and NoBo on the Corner. Around them are open studios, galleries, live music, demos and activations. With one of the three venues closed, the other two and the independent spaces between them carry the evening.
Who carries the walk this fall
Here's what the corridor looks like heading into November, ordered from north to south along Broadway.
| Stop | Address | What's known for the fall |
|---|---|---|
| The Crowd Collective | 4939 Broadway | Nov. 6: first installment of its annual "Small Originals" group show. Dec. 4: second installment. Both 6 to 9 p.m. |
| NoBo Art Center | 4929 Broadway #E | Closed at this location while it prepares a new space. No new address announced as of Oct. 16 |
| Bus Stop Gallery | 4895 N. Broadway | "Eternal Return," a solo show by Cassandra Chalfant, ran through Oct. 23. No November show announced yet |
| NoBo on the Corner | 4600 Broadway | Local artist exhibits, open studios and neighborhood programming |
| Groundworks Art Lab | 3750 Canfield St. | Studio space with classes in pottery, metalworking, woodworking, glass and printmaking |
The Crowd Collective is the clearest anchor this fall. It's the only stop on the block with a named show set for both remaining dates. It also sits at 4939 Broadway, right next to the Art Center's old address. The Crowd Collective's events page frames November in a way the regional calendars don't:
"Second to last event of the year! We hope you'll join us for our November First Friday and first drop of our annual Small Originals group show."
That line tells you how short the season is. The Crowd's events page lists only one First Friday after Nov. 6, and the Arts Alliance calendar also stops at Dec. 4. That leaves the Art Center two chances to rejoin the walk this year, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4. If its new space isn't open by then, the 2026 season ends with the namesake venue missing for its last three First Fridays, counting October.
Bus Stop Gallery has hosted a series of solo shows this year. In September it showed "The Other Side," by the street artist SMiLE. Chalfant's "Eternal Return" followed, a show about nostalgia, memory and what lies ahead, and it closed Oct. 23. Whatever opens next at 4895 N. Broadway will probably show up first in the Daily Camera's weekly guide, so check the early-November edition before the walk.
A route that works with one stop missing
If you're walking up from the Wonderland Lake side, start at the south end of the corridor and finish at the north end, where the scheduled programming is.
- Start at 4580 Broadway around 5 p.m. Cinq a Sept's happy hour runs from 4 to 5 p.m. daily, and the restaurant stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays, so you can also come back after the walk.
- Cross to NoBo on the Corner at 4600 Broadway when the walk opens at 6 p.m. It's the southernmost of the remaining official venues.
- Head north to Bus Stop Gallery at 4895 N. Broadway to see whichever show follows "Eternal Return."
- Pass 4929 Broadway #E and look for the map tent, if it's up.
- Finish at The Crowd Collective, 4939 Broadway, for "Small Originals" before 9 p.m.
Groundworks Art Lab on Canfield Street is the one stop that doesn't fit a straight walk up Broadway. It's better saved for a separate visit, especially if you're interested in its pottery, glass or metalworking classes.
The newest table on the block opened this summer
Cinq a Sept is the biggest change on this stretch since spring. Boulder Reporting Lab reported that Half-Eaten Cookie Hospitality Group, the team behind Oak at Fourteenth, Corrida and C Burger, opened the French bistro in July. It took over 4580 Broadway, the space previously home to Bellota and The North End, and before that Restaurant 4580.
The name means "five to seven" and refers to the early-evening hours for drinks and socializing. On First Fridays, the walk starts as that window ends. Founder Bryan Dayton told Boulder Reporting Lab that customers are coming in throughout the evening, not only for happy hour. Chef Sam McCandless keeps the menu short. Produce comes from Esoterra Farms, and beef and lamb come from Buckner Family Ranch. For a first visit, Dayton recommended in the same article starting with the bread and the oysters from Prince Edward Island, then the zucchini, the Esoterra salad, the chicken and the sole.
The rest of the corridor's food is mostly a daytime business, which matters if you want to spend a Saturday on the art district instead of a Friday night. Moxie Bread Co. at 4593 Broadway and Spruce Confections at 4684 Broadway are established bakeries on the same blocks. Little Tibet is just south at 4479 N. Broadway. Farther north, Upslope Brewing's Lee Hill taproom is at 1501 Lee Hill Road. Check hours directly before you go, since several of these spots close in the afternoon.
December, and what's still unannounced
The Dec. 4 walk is the last on the 2026 calendar. It's also when The Crowd Collective shows the second round of "Small Originals." The North Boulder Holiday Art Market is still listed as "TBA, 2026" on Visit Boulder's artisan markets page, with no venue named. The market's date, the Art Center's new address and Bus Stop Gallery's next show are the three things to watch for in November.
If you walk to the art district from the open-space side, the trail calendar is changing too. The City of Boulder's 2026 open space projects page lists the Foothills North Trail Reroute for July through December and says segments may close temporarily. It lists the Hidden Valley Trail Reroute for May through November. Check the city's live trail closure information before a dusk walk on Nov. 6, because a closed segment could change the route you planned to take to Broadway.
The NoBo Art Center's next location and opening date will decide what the first First Friday of 2027 looks like. Until it reopens, The Crowd Collective, Bus Stop Gallery and NoBo on the Corner are hosting the walk, and Cinq a Sept is open at the south end for dinner before or after.
